Thanks!
Thanks
– Giving!
Thank you to the churches of the Great Lakes Conference. Knowing the
sad state of economy, the Great Lakes Conference Board offered a budget to
the 2009 Annual Meeting delegates that made allowances for a %15 decrease
in church giving. SURPRISE! We received more from our churches in
2009 than ever before! The churches of the GLC sent $16,000 more in
2009 than in 2008 for a total of $518,917.
So, the faithful giving of our churches to the Mission of the Great Lakes
Conference has set a new record each year for the past several years!
This encourages the board – that our churches value our common mission and
see the fruit of it.
Thanks – Sharing!
Thank you also for being faithful in sharing Christ with friends,
neighbors, coworkers, neighborhoods, and the world! Because of
your faithful efforts in bringing the Good News to a lost and hurting
world, our churches have reported that 1,149 people have come to Christ or
recommitted their lives to Christ in 2009.
This is the third most ever! And means that for every 100 people
attending our churches, nearly 10 would be new believers!
Thanks – Growing!
Thank you for inviting friends, neighbors, and coworkers to come to
worship. We believe that God is at work as His Word is proclaimed, as
believers worship, as guests are welcomed and cared for.
The result it that we set a new record in 2009, with an average attendance
of 12,107!
This is the first time we had over 12,000 in worship!
Thanks – Sowing!
Thank you for your support of church planting. Last year we launched
3 new churches. In 2010, we hope to launch several more.
Last year we had 2649 attending our church plants, and they were used by
God so that 682 people came to Christ or recommitted their lives to Christ.
